Needle Exchange Program

Dear Barrie Resident,
My name is Aysegul Ceri. I’m a research analyst student at Georgian College.
Thank you for taking the time to participate in our survey about needle exchange programs in our community.
The purpose of this survey is to gather information about the perceptions and levels of support for needle exchange programs among Barrie residents. A needle exchange program is a public health intervention that provides clean needles and other injection equipment to people who inject drugs, in an effort to reduce the spread of HIV, hepatitis B and C, and other blood-borne infections. These programs have been shown to be effective in reducing the transmission of these diseases, and they also provide an opportunity for people who inject drugs to access other health and social services.
Your participation in this survey is voluntary and all responses will be kept confidential. The survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
Thank you again for your participation. Your feedback will help us better understand the views and experiences of Barrie residents with respect to needle exchange programs, and will inform the development of future public health initiatives in our community.
If you have any questions about this study, you can contact
